We did a return trip to the Thames on Sunday starting at 8.00 am from Putney and covering a total of about 22 miles down past Limehouse basin to just shy of Greenwich and return- had a really good day but it was certainly cold - minus 5oC when we set off and not getting above freezing all day. A bit sureal to see all the water splashes on the boat freezing and icicles hanging off the equipment - made me feel like a real eskimo although I was pleased not to have to attempt a roll [ or catch a walrus for that matter]. New dry suits worked a treat with thermals and a teddy bear suit on underneath not to mention wet suit gloves and two hats. All in all a lot more exciting than last week's trip on the canal at Fenny Compton. I did not take any photos but Sandra has a couple on her phone and one of the other club members with us took a few so I'll try to add a couple later.
Ski trip to Austria - new resort Obertaun this year in February and then a month on Milos to practice canoeing in warm water May / June nothing else finalised but would like to go back to China this year and maybe back to New Zealand by way of a final grand tour and about a million other places finances permitting.
