Back from our trip to Milos - had a really good time with lots of excellent kayaking - we managed 7 trips during our stay including one day back in a double kayak [ divorce boat ! ] the conditions were varriable ranging from flat calm [ and fog ] to force 6 and challenging to say the least. Milos itself is home to about 5500 people and attracts about 15,000 visitors during July and August when all the Greeks take their holidays. Only a tiny airfield so flights in are 35 seater propeller driven jobs from Athens - we flew in [ 40 minutes] but took the "fast" ferry back at 4 hours - the normal ferry takes 8 hours. The place was very quiet but plenty of nice resturants and fairly inexpensive by European standards. The big plus aside from the scenery is the water temperature at circa 24oC even I don't mind swimming and the capsize and rescue drills are alot less traumatic than in Oban. Got lots of good photos but annoyingly none on the last trip when we paddled out to a set of rocks called the "Bears" with a force 4 pushing a big swell through the rocks we had an entertaining time playing in the waves. Considering going back for a longer trip next year.
